In my garden full of Zen
I find I tend to freeze up when
The sand is smooth
The slate is clean
Scrunching down on elbows lean
But if I
A spot should make
Mar the sand quite by mistake
Suddenly I find my rake
Knows deftly what to do
A starting point
A grain in pearl
A ding to fix
Ideas unfurl
The focus now not all on me
My eyes, drawn out,
Begin to see
Without blemish I stand frozen
Without strife I make no art
All hard lessons I have chosen
Come together help me start
As in life my sand pit mirrors
Messages that can’t be clearer
Find the fault
The one big terror
Now make beauty out of error
Lesson learned
I’ve got it and
Leave it to the crystal sand
To show me how to shape my hurt
Transform my wound
I thank the dirt
