Albatross

In my learned jaded brain
It comes to disappear
How can I believe this stuff?
This isn’t science
Nowhere near

In my artful heartful brain
It’s found it’s rightful place
This brain has languished long enough
It’s time to join the
Human race

Mystic wonders once unreal
I must now
My vote repeal
How they shape I can’t deny
Now it’s plain to me as sky

I must move from places safe
Even though these ideas chafe
Against the things we learn in school
Dive into this other pool

Where I can shape
My world from thought
I don’t need the riches bought
Remove myself at last from loss
And set free my Albatross
